About This Release

We are pleased to announce the official release of Practice Perfect EMR + Management Software Version 2.0.0.524. Please review the attached list of new features & benefits carefully.

Patient Portal

Patient Portal update:

We are working on significant updates to the entire patient booking functionality of Practice Perfect. Beyond just additional flexbility to the current booking function, NEW patients will also be able to register, complete intake information and book appointments online. This will be happening over the course of the next few months.

Many new fields are being added within Practice Perfect to help customize this experience. You will see several of these changes within this update, even though they are not yet active - they will all be outlined and explained when the changes are completed - and can be ignored in the interim. Thank you.

Treatment Plan tab

The Treatment Plan tab will now indicate, in red print, where clients have exceeded coverage on each specific line.

Incident Goals:

Any occurence of lengthy Goal Descriptions being truncated have been corrected.

General & Setup

Security:

  • A security loophole has been closed in Customize Settings in which users with view-only ability were able to make changes.
  • An issue where a 'multiple singleton' could occur when changing a user's password has been corrected.
  • The Web Appointments Listing (appointments made via the web portal awaiting approval) will now adhere to the View self-only clients security setting.
  • If security is set to not Show Financial Information, then the number of Units charged per visit will no longer be displayed on the Activities by Progress Note screen.
  • Clients without Managing Providers were not being displayed in the Client-list dropdown on the Scheduling screen if a user was set to View self-only clients. This has been corrected.

Blue-Header Notes:

When deleting a custom-entered note in the Blue Header section, the user will now be asked to confirm the deletion.

Outbound Email Settings:

The password length for setting up outbound Appointment and Invoice emails has been increased to 60 characters.

A Start Date field has been added to each Provider's record for reference purposes.

Emailing Appointments:

A bug existed within the emailing appointment notification function in which a 'bad' email address would stop the process preventing other emails from being sent. This has been corrected - and the printed report now shows which email addresses were problematic.

Scheduler Navigation:

Depending upon the Scheduler settings and setup, sometimes it was not possible to move forward in the scheduler to the following week advancing one day at-a-time. This has been corrected.

Scheduled Provider setup:

The toolbar in the Days-of-the-Week section of each Provider's setup has been removed, it was redundant.

Payor Activities by Invoice screen:

Unapplied Payments had accidentally been removed from this screen - this has been corrected.

Scheduler Auto-Charge:

If two appointments had different Fee Codes attached, only the first charge would be automatically levied when the patient Completed/Arrived. This has been corrected and both charges will now be added.

Visit Counts:

If a Service was entered with a Visit Count and then that service was reversed using a negative visit count and then a replacement service entered - that replacement service's Visit Count was set to 0 by default, and should be 1 - this has been corrected.

(Canada-only) Show Health Number

The option to Show Health Number has been added to the Generic Multiple Clients Payor Invoice style.

Deleting Tranfsers:

An error would sometimes occur when deleting Transfers of services, this has been corrected.

Client Statements:

An error that produced an incorrect Balance Forward when the Exclude fully-paid items option is selected has been corrected.

Physician NPI #'s were formatted incorrectly on this report, this has been corrected.

A 'singleton error' would sometimes appear when printing this report using Predictive values, this has been corrected.

A separate column containing the each line's service Duration has been added to this report.

A new Provider Type filter has been added to this report.

Daily Progress Notes:

If nothing is selected in the Include Services drop-down, the Print and Preview buttons were disabled. This has been corrected.

Fee Listing:

  • A new column entitled Last Date Used, which contains the last date that the specific fee code was added to a client, is now included on this report.
  • This report can now also be exported to a CSV file by ticking the Export box.

Payment Application report:

A bug that did not split taxes to for a credited payment has been corrected.

Customized Documents:

  • Two new client fields have been added as potential Field equivalents - Client First Name and Client Last Name.
  • The Include Date of Signature option did not always work when printing this report, this has been corrected.

Daily Note entry:

When selecting to bring forward notes from a specific, previous date, the formatting may have become lost - this has been corrected.

Daily Note entry:

Bringing notes forward either from the last date automatically or by selecting a specific date will now respect the Self-only setting on Progress Note viewing. In other words, if a note from a previous day could not be viewed due to security settings in Activites by Progress Note, then it will no longer be available for bring-forward either preventing notes from being viewed inappropriately.

Daily Note style:

A new style for printing Daily Notes has been introduced. Please note that there are still additional changes and fixes forthcoming to this report. Instead of printing a Progress Note, the user can now opt to produce the report in a different format entitled the Treatment Note, which is more goal-oriented. This format can be selected under Settings, Customize Progress Notes/Documentation in the Daily Note report style field.

Wired Client

Wired Client integration:

  • The Last No Show date has been added as a field sent to Wired Client which can now be used as a trigger - eg; automatically sending a text to anyone who did not show up for their appointment
  • Enhanced logging has been added to the Wired Client integration in order to help our support department nail down any data transfer issues.
  • Practice Perfect was not sending Wired Client updated Appointment information if an appointment had only been edited, this has been corrected.
  • The Wired Client icon appearing on each appointment cell can now be turned off or on under Settings, Customize Schedule, Appointment cell by ticking or unticking the Show Wired Client on Scheduler box.

US Billing Specific

EDI837 Invoice Style:

  • Correct a bug that causes the claim level adjudication amount to not be same as the line level total amount when the primary payor adjustment payment includes EDI835-forwarded information.
  • A new option has been added under each Payor, in the EDI Preferences tab entitled Don't send claim level adjustment information. If selected, the claim level adjustment information from a previous EDI835 adjucated claim will not be submitted.

Telus integration:

This update includes the new Telus POS V6.3 drivers effective June 23rd, 2019.

The client's Injury Date has been added to this invoice style, for reference.

Ontario MVA and HCAI:

  • The Payee Name length has been exteded to 200 characters
  • If the same ICD10 injury code is used more than once (accidentally) it will only appear once on OCF-18, OCF-23 and OCF-21 printed forms.
  • One additional line has been added to the "Injury and Sequelae Information" sections of the printed OCF-18 and OCF-23 forms, bringing the total to five lines.
