Login Issues

A login issue introduced in R613 for workstations that had dropped their connection previously has been corrected.

Listings and Zones:

If only one Zone had been created, the option to drop down to <All Zones> for Payor Listings, Physician Listings, Other Contact Listings and Provider Listings did not exist - this has been corrected.

Security Reporting:

The User Login/Logoff report MAC ID field has been extended to contain longer addresses.

Scheduler

Scheduler display:

A new Focus icon has been added next to the Date field on the scheudler panel. If selected, all clients other than the current client in-focus will be greyed-out. This is helpful if you are trying to find a specific client's appointment(s) on a given date.

Reporting

Statement issues:

  • An intermittent 'Focus' error when producing statements has been corrected.
  • An error in which the Payor filter was not being applied properly (both the Client and Payor statements were printed), when generated from within a specific client has been corrected.

 

Financial

Payor Activity screens:

A memory error would intermittently occur for Payor Activity by Invoice and Payor Activity by Service screens where there were a very high number of transactions. This has been corrected.

Activities by Payment search:

You can now search for a Payment by its Description by entering any part of the description-in-question in the search bar in the Description column of both the Client and Payor Activities by Payment panels.

Activities by Invoice/Service SSN/SIN search:

While viewing either the Payor Activities by Service or Payor Activities by Invoice panels, specific clients can now be located by their SSN/SIN numbers by clicking on Actions and selecting Find by Client SSN (American) or Find by Client SIN (Canadian).

Web Version link:

Moving forward, the user will automatically be taken the most recent link for the web version of Practice Perfect - a new link will no longer be required after each update.

Fee Packages:

There was bug in which only the first fee code from a Fee Package was being added when used on the web version, this has been corrected.

Two-Factor Authentication:

The 2FA settings fields (in Other Settings, Security) were accidentally removed in release R613 - this has been corrected.

Reports:

The Accounts Receivable by Invoice and Accounts Receivable by Serivce (Unpaid Services) reports are now available on the web version.

Reports Crashes:

There were several 'crashes' report when running reports on the web version simultaneously - these have been corrected.

Patient Portal

Client Portal - User Experience:

There have been many changes made to the user-side of the client portal with this release, as follows:

  • If enabled, the PAY button will now show up at all times, regardless if a client is dischagred, has a negative balance, has no unpaid transactions or has no transactions whatsoever
  • Overpayments will now be included in the financial history
  • The address displayed along the bottom of the portal screen will now reflect the Service Location for that patient (in the case where multiple locations exist)
  • New  verbiage has been added to password resets to encourage users to check their spam filters for password reset emails.
  • The refresh button on some browsers were causing issues - these have been corrected.
  • After a payment has been made online, the user will be given the option to print a receipt.
  • A new tab entitled Payments has been added to the financial section of the client portal in which users can view payments that have been made - they can also reprint receipts from this listing, as well.

Client Portal - Online Payment Processing settings:

There have been several changes to the settings regarding online payments, as follows:

Under Settings, Customize Client Web Portal, Open Edge, there is a new field entitled Base Global Payments on - which contains a drop-down to either Billing Location or Service Location. Should the payment's made online by each client be reflected under the Global Payment account for that client's Service Location or Billing Location? Generally, if multiple Global accounts do exist, if they are different per treatment location, then Service Location should be selected.

Under Settings, Customize Client Web Portal, Open Edge, there is a new column in the setup table per location entitled Automatically Applied by User. If you wish to have online payments automatically applied and not have to use the Action, Web Payment Listing function, then select the Username to which that payment will be attached (since we need a username for each finanical transaction). If this column is left blank, then payments will NOT be automatically applied and Actions, Web Payment Listing will need to be used.

When using the Actions, Web Payment Listing function, you can now filter the online payments awaiting processing by Location or select to see <All Locations>, and the location of each payment will be displayed.
