Client Insurance Eligibility (American only):

There have been several changes and enhancements made to the Waystar and One Body Eligibility functions, as follows:

  1. When checking Eligibility, the user will now be prompted to either use the One Body or Waystar Eligibility functions. Please note that you must be registered with Waystar to use their Eligibility function (contact our support team for more info)
  2. Both One Body and Waystar Eligibility replies will now be automatically stored in the Clients Activities by Document
  3. The order of Payor Identifier used for both Eligibility submissions is a) The specific One Body/Waystar Payor ID settings, b) The EDI Payor ID settings and finally c) The PAYOR ID in the PAYOR. Eg a) will always 'win' if its present. If not, then b) 'wins' and if not, then c) 'wins'.
  4. For One Body, under Settings, Customize Insurance Eligibility... in the Payors tab there is a new column in the One Body grouping entitled Entity Type. You can now specify for each Payor which NPI # should be submitted for checking - either the Clinic's NPI # or the Provider's NPI# - for each Payor. For example, if your clinic is 'In Network' with a particular insurer but the Provider is not, then Clinic should be selected for that Payor for much more accurate results.

When adding a new document to the Activities by Document screen, the Provider will now default to the logged-in user/provider.

A new option entitled Automatically add Reminder for triggered visit counts has been added under Settings, Preferences, General. If selected, a Reminder will automatically be added to your Reminders if a client reaches a notification visit threshold. For example, if the system is set to notify you every time a Medicare patient hits their 10th visit, a Reminder to deal with this situation, on top of the pop-up note, can also be created automatically.

An issue with improperly tracked units when services involved transferred invoices has been corrected.

Canadian Billing Specific

Ontario MVA HCAI/AISI Changes:

Substantial changes are being made to Ontario Motor Vehicle insurance claim processing as of June 29th, 2026.  This updates includes the following modifications to accommodate these new requirements:

  2. Both the legacy and NEW AISI OCF-18, OCF-21 and OCF-23 forms are available within Practice Perfect. To select which forms should be used, a new field has been added to the  Client's Policy/Claim tab (if they have an MVA Payor), entitled Apply post Jul 1, 2026 MVA Rules. If selected, the new forms will be used automatically. If unticked, the legacy forms will be used. Please note these new rules only apply for patients whose insurance policy renews on or after July 1st, 2026, it does not have to do with when their accident actually occurred.
