Please contact matt@practiceperfectemr.com for more info.

Clients

Insurance Eligibility & Coverage Reporting (US Only):

A new function has been added enabling the user to verify insurance coverage and amounts for almost any client and payor, regardless of your Clearinghouse. Information pertaining to different services, co-pays , deductibles and maximums are all provided. This is a paid service, $1.00 per query. Please contact our support department for more information.

Clients

Payor-specific visit count warnings:

Warnings can now be setup for Payors that require some type of action to be taken by you every ‘x’ number of visits. For example, if Medicare requires a re-assessment every 10 visits, that can now be setup and the user alerted at every 10th visit.

Under each Payor detail, in the Data Preferences tab, there is a new field entitled Notify every # of visits. If setup for '10' visits, the user with be notified every time a 10th Arrived, Late or Completed visit occurs for any client with that Payor in their Billing Rules.

Clients

Client Portal username:

When a client signs up to use the Client Portal, they are prompted to create a username. Before the username is approved, a check is performed to ensure that it does not already exist, preventing duplication.

For the users, the Practice Perfect application did NOT verify that a duplicate username existed, and therefore allowed a username to be used more than once, which caused all sorts of issues.

With this update, this loophole has been closed and duplicate usernames will no longer be permitted.

Wired Client

Wired Client integration:

One of the most frequent concerns that we receive related to Wired Client is that you need to actually log in to Wired Client to check incoming messages and message history. This has been rectified with a new direct correction to Wired Client from within Practice Perfect.

To enable the connection, under Settings, Customize Wired Client, there is a new tab entitled Credentials. In this tab, enter your Account and Password information.

Once done, when clicking on the Texting  icon, the actual chat window from Wired Client will appear (which will also show you previous conversations) and your new message can be entered and sent.

Also, a new function entitled Pending Message can be found in the sidebar which will take you directly to any incoming Wired Client messages.

Web Version

Web Two Factor Authentication:

Two factor authentication was added as an option for our web version of Practice Perfect long ago. However, this was based on the number of logins – eg; ask for authentication every 5 logins. This has been replaced by indicating when authentication should happen based on the idle time between logins – eg; if more than 2 days has passed since the last login, authentication would be required. This was changed to conform with HIPAA and PIPEDA rules.

The setting this duration can be found under Settings, Other Settings, in the Security tab and is entitled 2FA is requested after (# of days).

General & Setup

Entering new Treatment Locations:

An error was occurring when adding new Treatment Locations, this has been corrected.

General & Setup

FOTO Integration:

FOTO integration has not been supported for quite some time, the relevant icon has been removed.

Clinical Documentation/EMR

PenPal Artificial Intelligence:

Our built-in AI for the creating of daily notes and clinical documents has been completely revamped to be more relevant, stable and speedy. As a result, we are re-conducting trials.

Please contact matt@practiceperfectemr.com should you wish to be part of our test base. We expect full release of this new function within the next few months.

Financial

Outstanding balance info:

The outstanding balance displayed in the header section of a client was incorrect when auto-applying overpayments from the oldest to the most recent – this has been corrected.

Credit balances were also incorrect - this has been corrected.

Financial

Generic Invoice/Receipt:

A bug that included incorrect payment amounts when Show applied payments after invoicing was enabled has been corrected.

Financial

Auto-Application of Overpayments:

The automatic application of overpayments to match up against Service Dates is now based on the original Service Date and not the Transfer date, if one exists.

Scheduler

Emailing/Texting booked appointments:

A new option entitled Email client when appointments are booked/changed has been added in the Settings, Customize Email Appointment/Invoice Notification settings under the Appointment tab. If selected, clients will be emailed automatically every time an appointment is booked or changed.

If the texting option is enabled, then clients will also be notified every time an appointment change is made, as well.

Patient Portal

Client Portal Booking option:

A new booking interval option has been added to each Fee Code, 0:00 and 0:40. If selected, that specific service can only be booked at the top-of-each hour or 40 minutes past the hour by clients via the client portal.

This option is found in the Patient self-booking tab located in each Fee Code and is entitled Web Start Interval.

Scheduler

Web-booked unconfirmed appointments:

At present, any appointment booked by a patient via the client portal had the option of needing to being confirmed by the clinic before being made ‘official’. This is accomplished through the Web Appointments function.

However, a loophole existed in which users could simply change the status from Held to Pending directly on the scheduler. If this was done, clients did not receive a confirmation that the appointment was proceeding AND the entry remained in the Web Appointments listing. This has all been corrected.  Changing the status directly on the scheduler now triggers the confirmation message to be sent and removes the entry from Web Appointments listing.

Scheduler

Resource Minimum Appointment Duration:

The Resource minimum appointment duration for Rooms & Equipment (found under Housekeeping, Scheduler, Scheduled Rooms & Scheduled Equipment) was not being respected – this has been corrected.

Scheduler

Waiting List listing:

Deleted Clients will now be shown on the Waiting list with a strikethough.

Reporting

Faxing details in the Contact Log:

Much more information pertaining to the faxes being sent directly from Practice Perfect will now appear in the Contact Log, including the destination and specific timing.

Reporting

Reporting:

  • The Payment Application Report was not functioning on the web version of Practice Perfect – this has been corrected.
  • The Revenue Trend Report was producing an error when produced based on Date of Entry. This has been corrected, along with an issue that prevented the report completing if it was empty.
