Since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us indoors, therapists are searching for ways to stay connected to their patients and provide them with the one-on-one treatment they need. One way of doing so is by offering telehealth therapy sessions to their patients. But what is telehealth?

 

The HRSA defines telehealth as “the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health, and health administration. Technologies include video conferencing, the internet, store-and-forward imaging, streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.”

 

So now that we know what telehealth is, let’s talk about what Practice Perfect is doing to help make this possible for you and your patients.

 

Practice Perfect has built an integration with Insig Health. Insig Health an online platform which enables you to host secure, remote therapy sessions with your patients. It is HIPAA, PHIPA, and PIPEDA compliant.

The integration itself is pretty easy to use. You can schedule your appointments in the Practice Perfect schedule the same you do normally. Once the appointment is created, you simply need to right-click it and select ‘Send to Teletherapy’. Upon doing so, the appointment gets sent to Insig Health. Both the provider and the patient will receive an email and/or text message with a link to join the session. And when they click the link, it automatically launches the session.
