How to Setup Hushmail

Hushmail provides healthcare practitioners with a simple, HIPAA/PIPEDA compliant way to communicate with clients and other professionals. The following guide demonstrates how to setup the Hushmail integration in Practice Perfect so that you can securely email appointment notifications, invoices, statements, and more.

 

To begin, navigate to the Settings > Customize Email/Invoice Notification menu and make your way to the Email Account Settings tab.

Begin by entering the following settings:

Outgoing Email Server: smtp.hushmail.com

Outgoing Server Port: 465

SSL/TLS: Implicit SSL/TLS

 

Enter your Account Name (i.e. the email with which you registered your Hushmail account) and your Password.

If you created your account using one of the Single Sign-On options (SSO) and linked your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account, you may enter the email address associated with that account in the Account Name field. You will have also received an email from Hushmail containing the SMTP password. Enter it in the Password field.

 

Lastly, you may click Test Account to ensure that your credentials were entered correctly. You should see the words No Error in the test log.

 

Then you must navigate to the Appointment, Waiting List, Invoice, and Receipt panels respectively. Enter the same email address from the Account Name field of the Email Account Settings panel in the From Email Address field for all Locations.

And that’s it! You’re ready to start sending emails from your Hushmail account via Practice Perfect.
