As you may be aware, there are some drastic changes coming to the handling of Automobile Insurance claims in Ontario as of July 1st, 2026, particularly for insurance policies renewing after that date.

As a result, we’ve had to implement several modifications within Practice Perfect, to accommodate these sweeping changes.
First, there is a new HCAI software update which will be required for all electronically submitted OCF-18’s, OCF-21’s and OCF-23’s after July 1st. You will require the new Practice Perfect update, version R669 (or greater) in order to submit to HCAI after this date.
Second, the printed OCF-18, OCF-21 and OCF-23 forms now have new versions, only to be used for those clients with auto insurance policies that have renewed after July 1st, 2026. The old forms must continue to be used for all other claims, both new and existing, should the policies already be in force. As a result, there is a new field on the Client Policy/Claim tab (under Claim #) and is entitled “Apply post July 1 2026 MVA rules” that will let you indicate which form set should be used.
The update will be available as of June 29th, 2026.
