PenPal AI: The Latest Updates to Our Medical Scribe

In case you missed our announcement a few months ago, Practice Perfect is wholly immersed in development of our fully web-based application. But as you can imagine, taking 20 years of development and recreating it and enhancing it for an entirely new platform is quite the task! So moving forward, in each monthly newsletter, we’ll be carving out some space for an update on this exciting new chapter in Practice Perfect’s history.
To start, we’re going to give you a preview on some of the key enhancements we’ll be integrating in this platform:
- Enhanced authorization tracking: Practice Perfect will keep you informed about exactly how much coverage is remaining for your clients, be it visits, units, or a dollar amount right down to the fee code level.
- Customizable side-bar: Ensure that you have the functions you need right at your fingertips with a customizable side-bar. Whether you’re a therapist that needs to be able to quickly dive into documentation, or you’re collecting payments and handling the flow of patients at the front desk, the functions you need will be available with the click of a button.
- Task management: There are a lot of moving parts at a private practice and team members rely on each other and their respective workflows to get the job done. This makes assigning tasks to your team members, or even your patients, essential, and as such, will be a key part of Practice Perfect’s next evolution.
So be sure to watch this space as we continue development on Practice Perfect’s web-based application. And if you have any ideas or suggestions for our new platform, we want to hear from you! Click the button below to drop a note in our Suggestion Box.
Changes Coming to Speech Therapy CPT Codes
Note: The changes discussed here affect US-based clinics only.
Everyone is talking about the AMA’s incoming changes to the CPT codes for speech language pathologists. We want to take a moment to let you know that we are aware of these changes.
The final rule for services reimbursement under Medicare CMS Physician Fee Schedule and NCCI edits version 33.0 will be coming into effect on January 1, 2027. We are closely monitoring the situation and will address any functionality within that simplifies the implementation process and helps you prepare for these upcoming changes. Please be on the lookout for more communication surrounding this, including seminars and software updates. In the meantime, consider reading up on ASHA’s post describing the new treatment codes replacing 92507 by clicking here.
Town Hall: We Want to Hear from You!

Practice Perfect is hosting our first ever Town Hall on Friday, September 18 at 12:00 pm EST/9:00 am PST
For our next Lunch and Learn, we’re changing things up a bit. Rather than presenting on a topic, we want to hear from you!
Come talk to us about the state of Practice Perfect, what you like, what you don’t like, and what could be better. We also want to hear what’s important to you for the next iteration of Practice Perfect.
So if you’d like to attend, please click the button below to register. And please take note of our last question about the specific topics you’d like to discuss during the seminar.
Nearing the End of the PenPal AI Trial
Since launching PenPal AI in early 2025, we’ve been offering a free trial to Practice Perfect users. We’ve been collecting feedback from these users, and implementing a number of updates and changes based on their suggestions, with even more updates scheduled to be included in our next release. But with that being said, we are aiming to end the trial period on November 1, 2026, and begin charging for PenPal AI at a rate of $20 per month, per provider.
So if you haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, please don’t hesitate to reach out, or if you’d like to see a demonstration of how PenPal AI works, click here to check out our latest Lunch and Learn.
