The Top 5 Reasons Why Clinics Are Texting Their Patients
We can talk all day about the benefits of adding automated SMS to your clinic’s communications toolkit, but instead waxing poetic about text messaging, we’re going to highlight the top 5 reason clinics are using Wired Client to text their patients.
1. Improved Attendance
Text message appointment reminders are easy for patients to receive and act on. Whether it’s a reminder 24 hours in advance or a same-day confirmation request, texting helps reduce no-shows and late arrivals—ultimately keeping schedules running smoothly.
2. Faster Response Times
Texting is one of the fastest ways to reach patients. Most people open texts within minutes, which makes it ideal for follow-ups, rescheduling, or urgent updates. It also gives patients a convenient way to reply without waiting on hold or navigating a phone tree, all while saving your admin staff valuable time!
3. Marketing and Public Perception
Texting shows that your clinic is modern, accessible, and in tune with how patients prefer to communicate. It helps shape a positive public image and positions your practice as forward-thinking and patient-focused. Beyond that, Wired Client can be leveraged to send surveys that turn into positive Google Reviews for your business.
4. Announcements and Promotions
Whether you’re opening a new location, launching a wellness program, or announcing an unplanned closure to your scheduled clients, texting is a quick, direct way to spread the word. It ensures important news reaches your patients, not their spam folder.
5. Let’s Not Forget Providers
Texting isn’t just for the patients–it’s for your providers, too. In our latest release, providers can automatically receive text messages on their personal device when a patient checks in for their appointment, cancels their appointment, or uploads a document to the Client Portal.

Inbound Faxing Is a Smashing Success!

Our inbound faxing service has already been a massive boon for our first group of users. It’s helping them say goodbye to their physical fax machines, streamline operations, and improve communication almost overnight.
With our integrated solution, incoming faxes are automatically imported directly into Practice Perfect EMR, so staff can review, file, or act on them without ever leaving their workflow. No more printing, scanning, or dealing with jammed fax machines.
You’ll also receive instant email notifications whenever a new fax arrives, keeping your team informed and responsive. It’s fast, secure, and designed to save valuable time.
And if you’re also using our outbound faxing service, everything—sending, receiving, and managing faxes—can be done seamlessly within Practice Perfect EMR. It’s an all-in-one, fully digital faxing solution built for modern clinics.

PenPal AI is Coming to the Desktop Application
We’re now several months into the PenPal AI trial, with development continuing behind the scenes. The feedback we’ve received from our first few rounds of trial users has been instrumental in guiding our development and helping PenPal AI to reach its true potential.
In our newest release, we will officially begin supporting PenPal AI in the desktop app. We’ve been testing it in the desktop app, albeit with limited functionality, and key features like the find and replace and the ability to edit transcripts before processing will be included in this build.
As for the next round of changes, a lot of the feedback we’ve received has had to do with the processing time for the transcripts. We are now working to expedite the processing, whilst improving the accuracy of its interpretation. We’re also looking at adding a dictation only mode a la Dragon, and giving users more control over which fields are populated in their documentation (e.g. subjective vs. objective etc.).
