Client Portal: Online Appointment Scheduling, Bill Payments, and More Features En Route
Healthcare clinics everywhere are letting their patients schedule appointments online, pay their bills, and more, and yours can too with our Client Portal.
We’re always assessing feedback from those who use our Client Portal, both on the clinical side, and that of their patients, and these next few updates are intended to directly address them.
Included in R656
We’ve added an option that allows patients to cancel appointments online. We know that not all clinics want to grant patients the ability to do this, and would prefer that they phone the front desk to make schedule changes, which is why it will remain an optional feature.
Also included in this release is the ability for patients to automatically receive a text as soon as they book an appointment in the Client Portal or by the front desk staff. But note that your clinic will need to be using Wired Client to leverage this feature.
Coming Soon
In our next release, we are implementing a highly requested feature–cluster booking. Cluster booking prevents patients from booking during times when no other appointments exists. For example, if a provider has all of their appointments booked in the morning and nothing in the afternoon, cluster booking will force the patient to book closer to the existing appointments, thus tightening up the provider’s schedule.
The other planned update is related to the waiting list. If a patient is looking for a timeslot that isn’t currently available, they’ll have the ability to add themselves to the waiting list. They’ll receive a notification if there’s an opportunity to snag the appointment time, effectively filling any gaps in your clinic’s calendar.
As a reminder, the Client Portal is included in your Practice Perfect EMR subscription, and all it takes to get started is contacting our support department.
PenPal AI: Now Available in the Desktop App
You heard it right; PenPal AI is now available in the desktop version of Practice Perfect EMR.
In R656, you can access all of the PenPal AI features that were reserved for the web app. That means you have access to the dictation side of PenPal AI, as well. So if working in the desktop version of Practice Perfect is your preference, we’ve got you covered.
With the release of the desktop version of PenPal AI, we’re expanding the trial to all interested users, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to try out this exciting new feature for yourself.
