Why Using Multiple Applications to Run Your Practice Doesn’t Work – Part 2

Many of the clinics who sign up for Practice Perfect are drawn to the fact that our software includes everything they need to run their practice. In addition to the scheduling, billing, and clinical documentation functions, there are a number of reports that help you keep your finger on the pulse of your clinic. And of course, you don’t have to contend with double-entry nearly as often. In Part 2 of this series, we’ll be wrapping up our conversation about why using multiple applications to run your practice doesn’t work.

Receiving Support for Multiple Applications

If you’ve ever contacted a product or service provider for support, then you aware of the fact that these individuals possess a very specialized knowledge of their product or service. That knowledge doesn’t always extend to the other applications that you’re using to run your practice. Allow me to provide you with an example.

Let’s say that you have one software for your clinical documentation, and a separate software for your claims submissions. You’re in the process of a claims submission and it’s stating there’s an error with the documentation aspect. But this doesn’t make sense to you because you were sure to triple-check the paperwork and you know that it’s complete. So you contact the claims submission software’s support department and describe the issue. They assure you that nothing is wrong on their end, and it’s most likely an error with the documentation software.

Disappointed and confused, you contact the documentation software’s support department with the hopes of finally putting this issue to rest. You explain that you already contacted the billing company and they said that the issue isn’t occurring on their end. And guess what the folks from the documentation software say? The same thing!

Situations like these reaffirm the importance of using one application for your scheduling, billing, and clinical documentation needs. When our customers encounter any difficulties with the software, there will be one person who will oversee your request; from beginning to end. There’s no he-say-she-say, and there’s no finger pointing, and no back and forth between multiple companies to fix a single issue.

Reporting on Key Figures When Using Multiple Applications

Regardless of your industry, you need to have an intimate understanding of your business’s numbers if you want to help it grow and thrive. Practice Perfect makes this possible by including a number of canned reports that can provide you with the numbers you’re looking for, with the click of a button. But when  you’re using one application for your accounting, one application for your patient engagement, and another one for your scheduling, it’s difficult to consolidate these numbers. That’s not to say that it’s impossible–it’s just a lot more challenging. This is why we encourage clinic owners everywhere to choose a practice management software that can do it all.
