November marks the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) annual convention. For the 2019 AHSA convention, attendees and exhibitors alike gathered at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center for three action-packed days. But before the conference began, the team had to make a quick pitstop.
Now if you’ve ever been to Orlando before, you’ll know that it’s home to more amusement parks than people. Chief among them is the world-famous Walt Disney World. That theme park has gotten so big that they now have at least 4 different theme parks within their grounds–and that isn’t even counting water parks. So when the team touched down a day before the trade show, they knew that passing by Disney World was a must. But as fun as it was, the crowds at Walt Disney World paled in comparison to those at the ASHA Convention.
Like most conventions, the attendees time is divided between educational seminars, classroom activities, and the exhibit hall. As exhibitors at ASHA, we were able to setup shop in a booth and invite attendees to come learn about our software. But because the convention centre is so big, and there are just so many attendees at ASHA (this year there were more than 15,000), it’s on the exhibitors to do something to set themselves apart. We chose to host Bingo in the Booth and it was a hit! We reached a point where so many people were lining up to play that we actually had to turn people away.
As always, the ASHA convention was a blast and we were so happy to catch up with both longtime clients and new ones. We’re counting down the days until next years convention in San Diego. Until then!
